Home

Each year the Home uses many products from food to cleaning, stimulation to maintenance. If you feel that you could buy us some of our requirements, please contact us so we can send you a copy of our requirements listing to see what we need.

We also have a 'Projects list" which we have set out here for your perusal. We would love to undertake them as soon as possible, once we receive funding. If you feel that you could be of assistance with these projects - please do not hesitate to contact us.

So if you would like to sponsor or part sponsor a particular project, please click here to email us. We will acknowledge your donation on our website if you want, or respect your anonymity if you so request.

Some of our major projects...

FIRE AND SMOKE ALARM SYSTEM

We were recently inspected by the Fire Department and they have advised we need to install a fire and smoke alarm system.

PAVING THE ROAD/WALK WAY TO THE EMERGENCY ASSEMBLY POINT ON OUR FIELD

It can be quite a task to go on a 4 X 4 track with a wheelchair! When we take our Residents to the emergency assembly point on the field from the various sections, the road/walk way we go on is very bumpy and can cause harm to our Residents. We would like to pave or 'smooth' out the road so that it makes evacuating our Home a lot safer.

PAINTING THE OUTSIDE OF OUR BUILDINGS

The original part of our Home - which are the two Convent structures - are in dire need of a fresh coat of paint.

ELECTRIC FENCING

Security is becoming a major issue and we are concerned for the safety of our disabled residents, particularly at night time. We would like to erect an electric fence around the whole extent of our property.

We have received a quotation of R41,831. Once again we can issue a Section 18A tax receipt for the full amount. If you are interested in assisting us with the erection of the electric fencing, please 'click here' to send us an email.

PHYSIOTHERAPY EQUIPMENT

We are in desparate need of one heavy duty treadmill for our physio room. Ours have unfortunately given up the ghost! The residents are totally fascinated with the machines because they can walk for miles and miles while staying in one place - all this while receiving the necessary excerises from the physio's. The prices for treadmill vary and if you would like us to obtain a quote for you - please let us know.

RENOVATIONS

Our buildings are old, and the time has come for renovating and refurbishing the different sections. We believe our residents who mostly live here 365 days a year deserve bright, well maintained living areas. We have identified our sections for which we would like your assistance with:

Main Home flooring: Many people know the Main Home as being the old Convent. This area houses the severe and profoundly disabled residents. With all the 'traffic' including the wheelchairs being pushed about - the flooring and walls have taken a 'knock'. We would like to replace the vinyl on the floors and walls and replace it with tiles. The walls would need to be tiled approximately half way up to protect them from being damaged by the wheelchairs.

Other smaller useful ideas for gifts...

There are times especially birthdays, when many of our residents feel left out as they do not have friends or family who remember that one really special day in their lives.

We have listed some gift ideas for you... so please don't forget about those people who are not able to join in and share their birthdays with their friends and families. By just donating any of the items we have listed for you, will bring hours of entertainment and joy for our residents.
