If you would like to support us while doing your shopping, you can apply for a 'My Village' card. It is a card that works on the same basis as the 'My School' card. Please contact Sharon for more information or for us to fax you a form.

Watch out for Mark and his team who sell Avril Elizabeth Home Button badges at various shopping malls. Mark and his team travel mostly through Johannesburg and the East Rand. If you want to contact Mark,you can on 011 7624533.

Second hand booksales

We will be holding a booksale on Saturday, 12 November 2011 from 9am until 12pm at Avril Elizabeth Home. Bring your family and come and have a look around - you may find something interesting to read!

The Home has a group of volunteers - whom we lovingly call the "bookladies" -who run our second hand booksales. We have a bookshop on our premises open Mondays - Fridays from 8am to 3pm. With the ever escalating price of new books - you will certainly find bargains here!

If you would like to donate the books you don't use anymore, please give Janet a call and we will collect from you. Unfortunately due to the ever escalating petrol prices, we only collect from Johannesburg and the surrounding areas.

Why not take a morning out to stock up on reading material?

Second hand Jumble/Bric-a-Brac/Furniture

We also encourage everyone who lives in the vicinity of the Home to drop off any unwanted items at the Home. All the clothing donated is first utilized to clothe our orphaned and abandoned residents from disadvantaged communities.

If you are moving house in the Johannesburg and surrounding areas and you have furniture to donate - give us a call and we may be able to collect the items which can be used in the Home, or we send the items to the auctioneers to fundraise for our orphaned and abandoned residents.

However please consider us when phoning to arrange the collection - as the ever increasing fuel costs have impacted enormously on our budget. Give Janet a call on (011) 822 2233.

We have placed numerous tins at till counter in various shops. Please support us by donating your unwanted change.
